Atlas Peak

The airy volcanic soil and moderate temperatures on Atlas Peak allow for longer hang time and ideal ripening, producing fruit with higher phenolics and tannins than any other region of Napa Valley. Working with the Michael Mondavi Estate Vineyard on Atlas Peak—his family’s vineyard planted in 1999—Rob Mondavi has unlocked unique methods of fermentation and viticultural practices to take full advantage of this other-worldly appellation.

The 15-acre vineyard produces dark fruit with a rich red signature of cherry and raspberry, lending muscularly textured tannins and structure to the Fourth Leaf Cabernet Sauvignon. Atlas Peak is the perfect compliment  and counterpoint to the classical and ethereal yield of the Howell Mountain site.
